Radicalization and violent extremism have completely changed the phenomenon of violence in recent decades. Now, we are facing a new transnational threat with lethality quotas never seen before. The international society lives on permanent alert and many professionals have come together to study the criminal phenomenon.
The Observatory is responsible for promoting projects and research on violent radicalization as well as its prevention and detection. It also promotes the counter-narrative of extremist groups, violent urban groups and terrorist organizations. And it makes a direct intervention in the most vulnerable communities and sectors of the population. OPRA aims to be a learning access for all those professionals and academics who want to collaborate or specialize in the subject and also for students who wish to carry out research practices.
There is a multidisciplinary team made up of criminologists, psychologists, social educators, analysts, mediators and imams, among others, to obtain quality analysis in their projects and activities.
